Fairs keep us connected to culture: Vikramaditya

Kullu, May 20 (Hindustan Times). Minister of Public Works and Youth Services and Sports Department Vikramaditya Singh concluded the district level five-day Banjar Mela at Kala Kendra in Banjar on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the fair is a symbol of our rich culture as well as its protector.

He said that Sringa Rishi is also known as Raj Rishi of this region. Saeij and Banjar valleys of Banjar Assembly Constituency have immense tourism potential in themselves and rural and cultural tourism is being promoted by connecting the road facilities in the area.

He said that to make our tourism prosperous in the long run, we have to develop a model of clean and community tourism so that our environment is not damaged and our cultural heritage is also enriched.

He gave Rs. 20,000 and to the Mela Committee Rs. 50,000 was announced as an incentive.
