Emphasis on empowering Panchayati Raj representatives in the Panchayati Raj Empowerment Dialogue

Jaipur, May 24 (Hindustan Times). On behalf of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Association, a “Panchayati Raj Empowerment Samvad” program was organized at the State Congress Office on Wednesday. In which Rajasthan in-charge of All India Congress Committee Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and state president of Congress Govind Singh Dotasara had a conversation with the people’s representatives of Panchayati Raj.

Regional President of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Association Dr.C.B. Yadav has asked for decentralization of 29 subjects in the 11th Schedule in terms of Panchayati Raj empowerment, giving more rights to Panchayati Raj members including audit, their honorarium. A representation was made on behalf of the representatives of the people of Panchayati Raj for sympathetic consideration of the demands. The people’s representatives of Panchayati Raj were assured to meet the demands made by the organization, which is considered the Congress party’s biggest asset, after holding talks with the government. Calling Panchayati Raj as the foundation of democracy, in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa called the role of Panchayati Raj public representatives as the most important in the upcoming elections. He said that empowerment of Panchayati Raj People’s Representatives is very necessary to strengthen Congress. Appreciating the efforts made by Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj organization to strengthen the ideology of Congress among the Panchayati Raj public representatives and common citizens through Sarvodaya Sankalp Shivro and Sarvodaya Chaupala organized across the state, he assured all possible cooperation.

Pradhan Sangh president Dinesh Kumar Sunda, Jaipur district president Mohan Dagar also demanded the government to give more rights to the people representatives of Panchayati Raj by voicing their opinions. A large number of Panchayati Raj President, Deputy Pradhan, District President, Deputy District President and other public representatives from across the state participated in this dialogue program and demanded to strengthen Panchayati Raj from the platform. During the program, many office bearers of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan, including Vikas Budania, Natwarsingh LR, Dasharath Meena, Naresh Godara, expressed their views.
