Elon Musk said that Neuralink has received approval from US regulators to test brain implants in humans. Neuralink is a start-up by one of the richest men in the world, Elon Musk.

The start-up said the first in-human clinical study approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is an important first step for its technology, which aims to allow the brain to interface directly with a computer.

It said in a post from its Twitter handle, “We are excited to share the information that we have received FDA approval to launch our first in human clinical study.” Loading video player. It is the result of reliable work by the Neuralink team in close collaboration with the FDA.

According to Neuralink, enrollment for the clinical trial is not yet open. Musk said at a startup presentation in December that Neuralink aims to enable the human brain to communicate directly with a computer. Then he had said that we are working hard to get ready for the first human transplant and we are confident that it will work well before the device is implanted in humans.

Musk also owns Twitter, SpaceX, Tesla and many other companies. He is known for making optimistic predictions about his companies. In July 2019, he pledged that Neuralink would be able to conduct its first human trials in 2020. However, he failed to do so.
