Share Market Closing 3rd Oct 2024: After the Gandhi Jayanti holiday on Wednesday, October 2, the stock market opened on Thursday and registered a devastating decline. Today the BSE Sensex closed down 1769.19 points at 82,497.10 points. While Nifty 50 also closed down 546.80 points at 25,250.10 points. After this terrible decline, the Indian markets have come down a lot from their record highs. On Thursday, the shares of 28 out of 30 companies of Sensex closed in the red mark and only 1 company’s share closed in the green mark. Similarly, the shares of 48 out of 50 companies of Nifty 50 also closed in the red mark and only 2 companies’ shares closed in the green mark.
Tata Motors shares saw the biggest drop.
Today, among the Sensex companies, Tata Motors’ shares fell the most by 4.08 percent. Apart from this, Larsen & Toubro’s shares fell by 3.95 percent, Reliance Industries’ shares by 3.91 percent, Axis Bank’s shares by 3.87 percent, Asian Paints’ shares by 3.77 percent, Bajaj Finance’s shares by 3.61 percent, Maruti Suzuki’s shares closed with a fall of 3.48 percent.
Big loss in these shares too
Shares of Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Titan, Adani Ports, HDFC Bank, and HCL Tech registered a big decline of more than 2 percent and less than 3 percent. Apart from these, shares of Power Grid, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, TCS, Nestle India, and NTPC lost more than 1 percent.
This stock took the lead even in the storm of decline
Shares of Bharti Airtel, UltraTech Cement, Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, ITC, Hindustan Unilever, State Bank of India, and Sun Pharma fell by less than 1 percent. On the other hand, Tata Steel shares closed with no change today. While JSW shares closed with a gain of 1.18 percent even amidst this devastating fall.
The stock market declined this week.

On Monday, the BSE Sensex closed at 84,299.78 points with a decline of 1272.07 points, while on the other hand, Nifty 50 also closed at 25,810.85 points with a loss of 368.10 points. The next day i.e. on Tuesday, the market remained quite flat and the Sensex closed at 84,266.29 points with a decline of 33.49 points and the Nifty closed at 25,796.90 points with a decline of 13.95 points. The markets were closed on Wednesday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and when the markets opened today on Thursday, there was chaos.
