Ghaziabad, May 21 (Hindustan Times). Digital Communication Commission Chairman K. Rajaraman visited RapidX on Sunday. Mr. Rajaraman appreciated the NCRTC team for the successful implementation of ETCS L-2 signaling on the LTE (Long Term Evolution) network.

During the journey K. Rajaraman gave an overview of the state-of-the-art RapidX trainset and the features of the track designed to travel at a speed of 180 kmph. He also looked at signaling and train control systems.

He gained first-hand experience of mission critical voice communication and video applications on trains running at speeds of 150 kmph.

NCRTC spokesperson Punit Vats informed that as India’s first Captive Non-Public Network (CNP N) license holder, NCRTC has deployed LTE communication backbone in 700 MHz band for signaling and train control and mission critical voice communication and video applications. A new benchmark has been set. in communication technology.

He informed that the RapidX Corridor is the first rail-based system in the world to implement a combination of ETCS with Hybrid L3 over Long-Term Evolution (LTE) radio. Besides, Platform Screen Door (PSD) and Automatic Train Operation (ATO) are also being installed under this system. This will ensure high safety and line capacity in RapidX.

ETCS2 signaling based on LTE technology is critical to making the RapidX corridor interoperable. This will facilitate seamless transfer of RRTS trains from one corridor to another corridor and facilitate the passengers to travel comfortably without the hassle of changing trains in all corridors of Phase-I.

He informed that interoperability not only ensures passenger convenience, but also makes the RAPIDX system independent of any particular vendor, thereby saving costs in future implementation of RapidX corridors.

Meanwhile, Member Technology Sanjeev Aggarwal, Member (Finance) Manish Sinha and NCRTC Managing Director Vinay Kumar Singh were present along with Mr. Rajaraman.
