Demand from India for professionals trained in modern and traditional medicine is increasing: Dr. Mansukh Mandvia

New Delhi, May 18 (Hindustan Times). Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the National AYUSH Mission meeting organized by the AYUSH Ministry on Thursday. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Mandaviya said there is a growing demand for professionals trained in both modern and traditional medicine in India. He said that the World Health Organization-Global Center for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar, Gujarat has empowered India as a global leader in traditional medicine.

He said India’s heritage of traditional medicine favored and paved the way for a holistic approach to health with a focus on well-being for all. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Health Minister lauded the ‘Heal by India’ and ‘Heal in India’ initiatives, which have been appreciated across the world. He said that the number of patients coming to India for treatment from all over the world is increasing. India is emerging as one of the best and cost-effective treatment centers in the world.

Union AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said on the occasion that new schemes of the Ministry of AYUSH are envisaged to be mainstreamed with the support of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He said that National AYUSH Mission (NAM) provides assistance to states and Union Territories for co-location of AYUSH facilities in Primary Health Centers (PHC), Community Health Centers (CHCs) and District Hospitals (DHs).

The program was also attended by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Advisor to the Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and senior government officials. Among the health ministers of various states who participated in the meeting were Daya Shankar Mishra (Uttar Pradesh), Dr. R. Lalthangliana (Mizoram), Alo-Libang (Arunachal Pradesh), Keshav Mahant (Assam), S. Includes Panganyu Foam (Nagaland) and Banna. Gupta.(Jharkhand) was included.
