Delhi Excise Policy Case: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia did not get any relief on Tuesday (May 23) in the Delhi Excise Policy case. His judicial custody was extended. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has extended Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody till June 1.
The court also directed the jail authorities to consider Manish Sisodia’s request to provide a chair and table for his studies. Sisodia is one of the accused in the Delhi Excise Policy case.
What did Sisodia say on the ED case?
Earlier, Sisodia’s custody was extended in one such case. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has fixed May 30 as the date for delivering the judgment by Special Judge MK Nagpal after hearing the ED’s arguments on the Excise Policy matter. This was the ED’s 5th chargesheet against AAP leader Manish Sisodia and others, which was heard in court on Friday (May 19). Earlier on May 6, the ED had told the Rouse Avenue court that accused Manish Sisodia’s alleged activities resulted in illegal earnings of around Rs 622 crore.
On March 9, the ED arrested former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in Tihar Jail after hours of interrogation in the liquor policy case. Earlier, the CBI had arrested Sisodia in connection with the ongoing investigation related to the same case. CBI has filed a charge sheet in this case.
