Kejriwal’s attempt to unite the opposition against the central ordinance

CM Kejriwal will also meet Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar today and seek his support in AAP’s fight against the Centre’s ordinance. As part of their nationwide tour to seek support from opposition parties against the ordinance, Kejriwal and Mann met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata yesterday. The Central Government issued an ordinance on 19 May to establish the National Capital Public Service Authority for the transfer and administrative action of officers of the Indian Administrative Service and DANICS cadre.

Parliament may introduce bills related to this ordinance in the monsoon session

A week ago, the Supreme Court handed over control of services to the elected Delhi government in all matters except the police, civil services and land-related matters. The ordinance must be approved by Parliament within six months. It is believed that the central government may introduce a bill related to this ordinance in the monsoon session of Parliament.
