Congress will not support AAP on central government’s ordinance, decision taken in meeting

The Congress party today made its stand almost clear on supporting the Aam Aadmi Party on the ordinance brought by the central government to regulate services in Delhi. In a meeting with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress leaders have asked him not to support AAP on the ordinance. In a meeting of Congress leaders from Delhi and Punjab along with Kharge, Delhi leaders met and told him that there should not be an alliance with AAP in Delhi.

According to sources, party leaders also told him that the party had refused to support Arvind Kejriwal on the issue of the Centre’s ordinance on transfer-posting of Delhi officials. However, the leaders have left the final decision to the high command.

Who attended the meeting?

Along with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Kamal Nath, Digvijay Singh, Ajay Maken were also present in this meeting. In the meeting, the Congress leadership sought opinion from the Delhi Pradesh Congress leaders regarding the Delhi government and the Centre’s ordinance regarding the alliance. All the leaders opposed the alliance. Ajay Makan strongly opposed the question of supporting Kejriwal on the ordinance. The leaders have left the decision to meet Kejriwal to the high command.
