According to the Meteorological Department, 0.5 mm of rain was recorded in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow on Wednesday. Due to this, the day temperature dropped by 1.5 degrees Celsius. Due to the sunshine in the afternoon, the minimum temperature in Lucknow was 14 degrees Celsius. It rained on Tuesday as well and the sky remained cloudy. However, light sunshine appeared in the afternoon. Due to this, the weather was pleasant for Christmas.
Cold wave likely from December 29
Meteorological Department scientist Atul Kumar Singh has said that there will be a slight increase in night temperature in Uttar Pradesh and further drop in temperature can be seen from 27 December. After this, the weather will become colder from 29 December. Due to this, there is a possibility of cold wave in entire Uttar Pradesh.
Chance of rain and hail
The weather department has issued a warning to farmers. They have been asked to take necessary measures to protect crops from possible rain and hailstorm. At the same time, due to the recent rains, AQI has also improved in various districts of UP. AQI has been recorded at 182 in Lucknow, 178 in Meerut, 109 in Prayagraj, 102 in Agra, 97 in Gorakhpur, 93 in Hapur and 78 in Kanpur.
