Obesity and nutritional deficiencies 

Cold drinks contain excessive amounts of sugar,  . Also, they do not contain any nutrients, which can cause deficiency of essential vitamins and minerals in children.

The sugar and acid present in cold drinks can weaken the tooth enamel, leading to tooth decay and pain.

Cold drinks can slow down digestion, causing stomach pain, gas, or constipation in children.

Weakening of bones 

Cold drinks are low in calcium, which is essential for bone development. Regular consumption of these can weaken bones in children. 

Lack of water in the body 

Cold drinks may feel refreshing, but they do not hydrate the body. Sweet beverages promote urination, which can lead to dehydration. 

What to give to the children?

It is more beneficial to give plain water, fresh fruits, fruit juice (mixed with water), or buttermilk to children instead of cold drinks. These keep them hydrated as well as provide essential nutrition.
