CM Yogi will honor Jhansi’s Neelam Sarangi

Jhansi: The Yogi government is going to organize state level Navdevi Samman Samaroh to honor women who have done outstanding work in the field of sanitation. Women have been selected from various organizations in the state by Swachh Bharat Mission, Urban Directorate, Urban Development Department, Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself will honor these women.

Women have been selected in nine categories from various municipal areas of the state, who are contributing to sanitation through innovative experiments or through special efforts. Four women have been selected in each category. Neelam Sarangi of Jhansi Municipal Corporation area has been selected for the first prize for outstanding work in the Waste to Wealth category.

Neelam Sarangi, a resident of Jhansi, has worked to popularize an innovative initiative called “Baker Ko Akar” in the city. He worked closely with the Jhansi Municipal Corporation, teaching his household and acquaintances the techniques of using biodegradable waste and junk at home. In many parks of Municipal Corporation Jhansi, beautification and selfie points were made from junk materials which is very attractive. Along with this, many types of operations are being done regarding the use of junk and domestic solid waste.

Neelam Sarangi said that she had started experimenting with using waste and junk through the shape of waste, which was successful. Now with the help of Municipal Corporation they have successfully experimented in parks and many other places. Neelam expressed her happiness on being selected for the state level honour.
