Bhopal, May 15 (Hindustan Times). Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Kshipra is a sacred and historic river of the state. This is Mokshadayini. It is necessary to keep Kshipra, the symbol of people’s faith, clean and pure.

Chief Minister Chouhan was instructing officials during the presentation of the “Aviral Priya Yojana” on the conservation-promotion of the Punya-Salila Kshipra river at his residence office Samatva Bhawan on Monday evening. Senior officials and experts including Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Chairman Narmada Valley Development Authority SN Mishra were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that Kshipra river has to be made flowing again. First of all, the waste water has to be prevented from going into the river. For this prepare a roadmap by long term planning. Planning should involve the public and get cooperation. A roadmap should be prepared and presented before me soon.

It was informed in the meeting that there is a plan to spend 1741 crore rupees in five years for the protection and enrichment of the river. Information on conservation-breeding methods was also given. Along with this, the work being done to keep the area around the river green was also told.
