New Delhi: The way to implant a chip in the human brain has been cleared. Elon Musk’s brain chip firm Neuralink was given permission by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct tests on the human brain on Friday. In this regard, the neurologist tweeted that this is an important step for the future. Our technology will prove to be helpful for people in the future. Elon Musk claimed during a presentation some time ago that even a paralyzed patient would be able to operate a computer after implanting a chip in the brain.

In this regard, if Elon Musk’s idea is completely successful, then it will prove to be a boon for the medical field. This will benefit people suffering from hearing, speech, obesity, autism, depression and schizophrenia etc. Elon Musk made headlines late last year when he said he believed in it so much that he would be willing to pass it down to his children.

Significantly, before allowing the Neuralink trial, the FDA has been alerted on several issues. This includes lithium batteries used in brain implants. There are also challenges such as removing the device without damaging the brain tissue.
