10 Chinese ships converge on the scene

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told the media on Thursday that the search and rescue operation was still ongoing.

Many countries including India, Australia have sent help

He said Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Maldives and the Philippines had sent emergency assistance to locate the Chinese ship and crew. The Chinese government appreciates the assistance received from these countries. The Indian Navy said that a P-8I maritime patrol aircraft has been deployed to assist in the search and rescue of the Chinese vessel.
