Tarnishing the image of PLA is not allowed

The government is taking action after comedian Li Haoshi’s recent show was found to have violated the rules. Comedian Li went viral on Chinese social media earlier this week. He mocked the country’s military in a live stand-up set in Beijing on 13 May.

The post related to the comedy show was described as an insult to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China. China’s Cultural Bureau reacted sharply to the joke, saying it would never allow any company or individual to tarnish the PLA’s image.
