Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the celebration of Ganga Dussehra festival in Narmada river which passes through Chandod village of Vadodara and is the lifeblood of Gujarat. On the first auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra, Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel performed a grand and divine aarti of Maa Ganga-Narmada with Vedic chanting by Brahmins.

The ten-day Ganga Dussehra festival is being celebrated on the banks of the Malhar Rao Ghat at Chandod, a famous pilgrimage site at Dabhoi in Vadodara district. The then Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in the festival today and performed divine aarti of Gangaji-Narmadaji Mata at Malhar Rao Ghat.

 

Narendrabhai Modi’s nine years as Prime Minister and the festival of Ganga Dussehra were celebrated with auspicious coincidence and a special pooja was performed by a Brahmin barber on the occasion.

Gangaji descended to earth on the banks of the famous Malharrao Ghat. Ganga Dussehra festival is celebrated in his memory according to a long-standing tradition. This festival is celebrated for ten days and thousands of devotees gather every day during this festival and take advantage of Narmadaji’s aarti. The entire atmosphere became devotional as the puja was performed and the Maha Aarti was performed here with Vedic chants.

During the program, the guests present were introduced to the Chief Minister’s modesty and gentle nature. After the Mahaarti, the Chief Minister met the guests as they boarded the ghat and interacted affectionately with the children.
