Chhattisgarh: Women entrepreneurs running a bakery unit in Rural Industrial Park Puhputra

Raipur: Chhattisgarh government has launched RIPA i.e. Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park in the state to create new employment opportunities and promote small scale industries. Due to the employment of women and youth in the village itself, the migration of people is decreasing. In Surguja district, 2 RIPAs have been established in each development block where activities in the form of small scale enterprises have been initiated.

In the same vein, Jaya Mahila Group runs a bakery unit at Puhputra Rural Industrial Park under Lakhanpur Development Block in Surguja District. Here women are making bread, toast and cream rolls, which are being supplied from rural areas to cities. Rural women groups are benefiting financially from this scheme. Sumitra Rajwade, a member of the Jaya Mahila Swasahay Group, said that 10 women are working in the group. We have started the operation of bakery unit in Ripa with the cooperation of district administration.

He said that before starting work, he was given special training by the district administration to make quality bread. After the completion of the training, a bread making machine has been installed in the industrial park where the production is going on. Understanding the supply and sales chain to run the enterprise better. The government has put faith in us and initiated innovation to provide employment to rural women. All the women are working hard to make this venture a success. Appreciating the Chhattisgarh government’s plan, Sumitra said that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has the foresight to make women entrepreneurs. Sumitra expressed her happiness to get a job.

Under Ripa, women are working as threading tasers

Tusar threading activity has also been started at Puhputra under Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park in collaboration with Silk Department. In which taser threading is being done by 20 women through the base machine, in which training has been started by forming a group of 10 women in the first phase. In the first phase of training, quality yarn is being produced by these women. Silk threading can be enjoyed throughout the year. In silk threading work, production of at least 2-2.5 kg of thread can earn Rs 5000-6500 per beneficiary. RIPA has taken strong steps towards creating permanent employment through threading activity.
