The Pakistan Cricket Board, which is busy preparing for the tournament, has got a big setback in the meantime. Team India will not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. The BCCI will propose to organize the tournament under the hybrid model in front of the ICC. According to sources, the hosting of the Champions Trophy can be handed over to Dubai or Sri Lanka. In the draft schedule submitted by Pakistan to the ICC, all the matches of India have been kept in Lahore. The ICC will accept this schedule only after getting consent from the boards of the 8 teams participating in the tournament.

BCCI cited the safety of the players

However, the BCCI has not yet spoken openly about Team India’s visit to Pakistan. But the BCCI had earlier also refused to play matches in Pakistan citing the safety of the players. However, there has been no official confirmation from the BCCI regarding this yet.

A source related to this whole matter said that in such a situation a hybrid model is being worked on and a solution will be found soon, but one thing is certain that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan. India can play its matches in UAE or Sri Lanka like the Asia Cup, although the final ion of the ICC is yet to come.

There has been no series between India and Pakistan since 2012

There has been no bilateral cricket tour between India and Pakistan since 2012. However, the Pakistan team came to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup. The BCCI has always said that the team will go to Pakistan only if the central government allows it. The Champions Trophy 2025 is to be held in Pakistan from 19 February to 9 March. Apart from host Pakistan, seven countries will participate in it.
