Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal recently accused the makers of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah’ (TMKOC) of exploitation. A few days later, Monica Bhadauria, who appeared in the role of ‘Bawari’ in the show, has also opened a front against the maker Asit Kumar Modi and the project head Sohil Ramani. The actress made several serious allegations against Asit and Sohil and also said that they were torturing me so much that I thought I would commit suicide.

After leaving the show, the makers did not pay
Monica played the role of Bawari Dhondulal Kanpuria in the hit sitcom show from 2013 to 2019 i.e. six years. During a recent interview, the actress said that after leaving the show, the producers did not pay her for a year. He said that later many other stars of the show like Gurcharan Singh, Jennifer Mistry, Raj Undukta and Shailesh Lodha also faced this.
Suicide felt better than work

Calling Asit Modi a ‘big liar’, Monica said that Asit Modi and Sohail Ramani insulted the actors on the sets. He said, “They tortured me to such an extent that I thought suicide is better than working here. They were torturing me mentally. They were shouting, abusing and Sohil was saying we are paying you. So do what we say.”

Even after mother’s death, Asit did not call
The actress also recalled the days when her late mother was undergoing cancer treatment. Monica said, even if she did not have any scene to shoot, she was asked to come on set early in the morning. He claimed that Asit Modi did not make a single phone call after his mother’s death.

Asit Modi threatened to ruin his career
Monica further alleged that the producers had threatened to ruin her career. The actress said, “Asit Kumar Modi threatened me not to work in Mumbai. I was already going through the shock of losing my mother and here he was threatening me to lose my career. It really affected my career.

“I had to struggle after work.”

Concluding her talk, the actress also backed Jennifer’s claim and said that Tarak Mehta’s Oolta Chashma is a “masculine” venue. He said, “Men dominate the set. They would wait for the female actors and leave before the male actors finished their scenes. Despite being a TV show, female actors are paid less than male stars.”
