BSF personnel under South Bengal Frontier seized 1042 bottles of phencidil, 10 kg of ganja and 99 leaves of tapentadol medicine in separate incidents from their areas of North 24 Parganas, Nadia, Murshidabad and Malda along the Indo-Bangladesh border. The BSF said that on May 14, border outpost Tentulberia, ad hoc SB-LL Corps personnel while on duty at the border spotted three-four smugglers near the barricades. The jawans started to surround the smugglers by setting up an ambush. Seeing the soldiers coming towards them, the smugglers took advantage of the darkness and fled. During an intensive search in the area, the jawans seized 372 bottles of Phencidal from the spot.

Other incidents on the same day included BOC Dobarpara, Adhak SB-LL Vahini, BOC Madhupur, 82nd Vahini, BOC Haldarpara, 54th Bahini, BOC Raninagar and BRC Pur, 86th Bahini, BOC Khasmahal, 141st Bahini and BOC Lodhia, 70th BOC. The Corps seized 670 bottles of Phencidyl from their area of ​​responsibility. The seized goods were handed over to the concerned agencies for further legal action.

Expressing happiness over the jawans’ achievement, the spokesperson of BSF, South Bengal Frontier said that the Border Security Force is always vigilant and adopts various operational measures to prevent smuggling on the border.
