India’s Remarkable Infrastructure Endeavors in the Ladakh Region

India is steadfastly engaged in constructing infrastructure on its own land near the China border, in a move that delivers a dual blow to China’s intrusion intentions. In the Ladakh region, both civilian and military projects are in progress, marking the country’s commitment to enhancing its preparedness in the face of geopolitical challenges. Notably, in the Eastern Ladakh sector, the construction of the world’s highest tunnel, a road, and a military airbase is well underway.

Lieutenant General Rajiv Chaudhry, the Chief Engineer of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), shared that alongside the construction of the Mughal Road, two years after breaking its own record by building the world’s highest road at Umling La Dara, the BRO is fully prepared to surpass that accomplishment. The Mughal Road will connect Likir, Mig La, and Fukche, significantly enhancing the Indian Army’s strategic readiness. The highest motorable road in the world, Umling La Dara, stands as a testament to the BRO’s expertise and determination.

The prestigious BRO head further explained that the BRO is all set to break its own record by constructing the highest motorable road at Mig La Fukche. Commencing construction on August 15th, the road will be created at an elevation of 19,400 feet, connecting Likir, Mig La, and Fukche.
