Boat carrying 500 refugees missing

According to the organisation, their boat had last contact with the refugees on Wednesday morning. At that time the boat was 320 km from Benghazi port in Libya and 400 km from Italy. His engine was not working properly. Along with this, Italy’s emergency NGO said that their life support ship has been searching for a refugee boat for 24 hours. However, no trace of him has been found.

According to media reports, Italy’s Coast Guard has saved the lives of 1094 refugees by conducting two separate operations yesterday i.e. on Thursday. These people also got washed away in the sea. In fact, refugees from places of violence continue to leave their countries and come to Europe. So far 47 thousand refugees have reached Italy through boats. Which is 18 thousand more than last year.

Last year 46,000 people reached England by boat. A large number of Indians are also included in these. In the year 2022, more than 233 Indian migrants crossed the English Channel illegally and in 2023 this figure has crossed 250 in just one month. This makes the Indian group the largest to do so after Afghanistan and Syria.
