Boat carrying 30 passengers capsizes in Ganga river in UP, 4 women killed

According to information, women from a village of Khejuri Police Station in Ballia were on board the boat. These people gathered in large numbers under the Ohr tradition. This tradition involves crossing the Ganges by boat. Just then the men and women were crossing the Ganges by boat when suddenly the boat overturned. Fortunately, a rope was tied at the accident site and some people came out holding the rope, but the women got trapped on the banks of the Ganga.

So far 3 main reasons for the accident have come to light.

There are three main reasons behind accidents. The boat was overloaded and due to engine failure in mid-stream and strong winds, the boat became unbalanced. After the incident, the boatman fled from the spot. DM Ballia said that 30 people were on board the boat.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took note of the boat accident in Ballia district. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials of the district administration to immediately take the injured to the hospital and provide proper treatment. Along with this, he also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Along with this, district administration officials, SDRF and NDRF teams have been directed to reach the spot and speed up the relief work.
