The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a warning about Cold Out, a cough syrup made in India. This medicine is of low quality and is said to be poisonous. It was used in Iraq. Many cough syrups manufactured in the country have been banned before.
According to a TOI report , this cough syrup manufactured by Fortes (India) Laboratories Pvt Ltd has been found to contain high levels of Diethylene Glycol (0.25%) and Ethylene Glycol (2.1%). A syrup made from a combination of paracetamol and chlorpheniramine, it is used to treat and relieve symptoms of the common cold, cough and allergies. WHO alert on cough medicine
The WHO has issued a warning about an Indian-made cough syrup called Cold Out, which was found to be contaminated with toxins. This is the fifth such warning being issued against an Indian manufacturer in the past 10 months.
Ginger juice and honey
Take fresh ginger from which extract 1 teaspoon of juice. Add 1 teaspoon of honey to the ginger juice
Drink this mixture every morning and evening for cough.
Remove the old one
Boil 1 teaspoon of licorice in 1 cup of water.
Once the water is reduced to half, cool it and filter it.
You can drink several times a day to get relief from cough.
Turmeric and milk
Add hot milk and a pinch of turmeric in a glass.
Drinking milk of this mixture before going to bed gives relief from cough.
This helps to reduce symptoms like cold, flu.
Basil tea
Pick good basil leaves.
Boil these leaves in a cup of water
Strain this extract and drink it
Drinking Tulsi decoction will help reduce cough.
Honey and mint
