German sports brand Adidas has been announced as the sponsor of the new kit of the Indian team. Jai Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, gave this information. Currently, the Indian team’s kit sponsor is Killer Jeans, whose contract expires on May 31. Thereafter, the adidas logo will appear on the jersey of the Indian team for the WTC final match. The Indian team is scheduled to play England in the WTC final match against Australia at The Oval from June 7.
Killer Jeans was signed as the kit sponsor of the Indian team for a short period of time. Killer was earlier the kit sponsor of the MPL Indian team. Announcing the name of adidas, the BCCI secretary also expressed happiness. Jay Shah wrote in his tweet that we are very happy to announce that BCCI has tied up with adidas as the next kit sponsor of the Indian team. We are committed to taking the game of cricket forward. Killer Kit was sponsored for only 5 months
As the kit sponsor of the Indian team, MPL has tied up with the BCCI till the end of 2023. But he decided to end the contract midway. After this, BCCI tied up with Killer Jeans as a kit sponsor for only 5 months. As of now, the BCCI has not disclosed the contract amount with Adidas. Earlier, MPL paid Rs 65 lakh per match to the Indian board.
