After the Tirupati temple Laddu controversy, Mahant Divyagiri of Mankameshwar temple has now banned prasad from the market. Mahant Divyagiri has issued a letter asking devotees to offer dry fruits at the sanctum sanctorum.

Mahant Devyagiri, the Peethadheeshwar of Mankameshwar Temple, Lucknow has issued a notice in this regard. The notice issued reads- “Special notice, offer only the prasad/dry fruits prepared by you in the sanctum sanctorum for offering in the temple. Prasad brought from the market is being banned due to the incident in Tirupati Balaji Andhra.
Instructions for temples in Karnataka too
After the controversy over Tirupati temple Laddu, the Karnataka government also issued a circular last Friday. In this, all the temples coming under the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department were instructed to maintain the quality of the prasad prepared there. Temples have been asked to use only Nandini brand ghee of ‘Karnataka Milk Federation’.
