Bad Habits: No matter how much exercise you do, this mistake after going to bed will not benefit

Bad sleep habit: It is important to get enough sleep for good health. A new study has claimed that if you sleep less than 6 hours daily, then exercising will not benefit. This research has been published in The Lancet Healthy Longevity Journal. Work sleep has a negative effect on physical activities. Researchers from University College London (UCL) in the UK conducted the study. For the study, the researchers recruited 50,8 people aged 958 and older and tracked their activities for 10 years.

The researchers analysed how different combinations of sleep and physical activity habits affect people’s function over time. The team found that people who were more physically active and slept less had a faster decline in their physical condition, that is, after 10 years, their body was equal to that of friends who did less physical activity. This study was found in line with previous research that 6-8 hours of sleep every night was associated with better work efficiency.

During the

study, participants were asked several questions, such as how long they slept at night in the week. They were then divided into three groups – short sleep (less than 6 hours), moderate sleep (6-8 hours) and long sleep (more than 8 hours). During this time, participants were dependent on their sleep and physical activity. It was found that those who slept less were less active over time.

UCL author Mikaela Bloomberg said that the study shows that getting enough sleep is necessary to get the benefits of physical activity. This shows how important it is to consider sleep and physical activity together when thinking about health.
