Baby Care Tips: Baby’s skin is getting dry, take care of it like this

New Delhi: Children’s skin is very delicate as compared to adults, due to which they are more prone to dryness. This is also because babies are delicate as well as thin and have fewer moisturizer glands. Dry skin can lead to eczema (redness, itching, swelling of the skin). This can cause a lot of trouble to children in the summer season. Thus, it is important to take proper care of their skin so that the baby’s skin remains hydrated and healthy. In this article, you will learn about some tips, with the help of which you can avoid dry skin of babies.

Bath time

Try not to bathe the children more than once a day and also reduce the time of bath. A 5-10 minute bath session will be enough for them.

While bathing children, keep one thing in mind that do not use any kind of chemical soap or bubble bath on their skin. Also, use lukewarm water instead of hot water to bathe them.

Use a body wash containing proteins, minerals and glycerin to bathe babies while taking care of their delicate skin.

Use a cleanser made from coconut, so as not to harm their eyes. Finally, dry the baby’s skin with a soft towel.

Within 3 minutes of bathing, apply a moisturizer or lotion made specifically for their skin. This helps seal the moisture in their skin.

Note that lotions to be used on baby’s skin should be recommended by experts.

Organic or cold-pressed olive or coconut oil is beneficial for the delicate skin of babies.

Almond oil, jojoba oil and buttermilk can be beneficial for baby’s sensitive skin as they provide deep hydration and are rich in antioxidants as well as vitamins A, E and D.
