Aryan Khan Case: Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede, who arrested actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan on a cruise in 2021, got relief from the High Court on Monday. The court has stayed his arrest till June 8. However, the court reprimanded Shah Rukh Khan and his WhatsApp chat. The CBI said that Wankhede deliberately leaked the chat with Shah Rukh Khan, which could affect the investigation.

On CBI’s plea, Wankhede’s lawyer said that he had not leaked the chat to the media. This is only a part of the application. Because it is alleged that Wankhede demanded a bribe of Rs 25 crore from the actor to avoid implicating Shahrukh’s son Aryan Khan in the drug case from the cruise ship Cordelia. In the chat, Shahrukh Khan said that he Wankhede was described as an honest officer.

The CBI said that Sameer Wankhede is trying to show the certificate of honesty of the WhatsApp chat with Shahrukh Khan on the plea of the lawyer. It said the chat was not proof of Wankhede’s innocence.

What did Wankhede say in the petition?
Referring to the chat with Shah Rukh Khan, Wankhede has claimed in his petition that the actor has no grievance against him and has only requested him (Khan) to be gentle with his son Aryan Khan. Wankhede said that apart from praising the actor for his loyalty and honesty, he also regretted the politics involved in the case. Wankhede has claimed in the petition that if Aryan Khan had demanded money for his release, the tone of Shahrukh’s message would have been different.

The court issued this order to Wankhede
After this, the bench of Justice Abhay Ahuja and Justice MM Sathaye stayed the arrest of Wankhede till June 8. Wankhede filed a petition in the court seeking to quash the CBI’s FIR, upon which this decision came. But not talking to the media about the case, attending every call of the CBI and giving an affidavit to Wankhede not to spoil the evidence.
