The G20 Tourism Group meeting is being held in Srinagar from May 22 to 24. The event, which will be held on the banks of Dal Lake, will showcase the richness of art and heritage to the world. But three important member countries of G20 are not participating in this meeting.

China, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are the G20 member countries that have not participated in the ongoing meeting in Srinagar. According to reports, 120 foreign delegates from 17 countries reached Srinagar on Monday but no delegation from China.

However, some private travel agents from Turkey and Saudi have joined it. Apart from India, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, UK, US and European Union are participating in the three-day event in Kashmir. is ,

Earlier on Saturday, China had officially refused to join. At the same time, Turkey and Saudi Arabia have not commented on this. According to information, the embassies of none of these countries in Delhi have given any reaction regarding their participation in the meeting.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wanbin said China strongly opposes any kind of G-20 meeting on the disputed territory. India objected to this statement of China.

 

India responded to China saying that it is completely free to hold meetings in its own territory. China previously did not participate in the G-20 meetings held in Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh. He considers it a disputed territory.

Apart from the G20 members, India also invited several guest countries and representatives of several international organizations. These include Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain and UAE. In which all other countries participated except Egypt and Indonesia.

The absence of Egypt and Indonesia, who were invited along with China, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, is seen as a strategic move in the context of India’s decision to host the G20 meeting. Because this is the first major international incident in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.
