Apara Ekadashi 2023: According to the Panchang, there are two Ekadashis in every month. Jyestha month has started. Today is the first Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of this month. So the second Ekadashi falls in Shukla Paksha. Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha is called Apara Ekadashi. Apart from this, Bhadrakali Jayanti (Bhadrakali Jayanti 2023) is also celebrated on the second day of Jyestha month (Jyestha Ekadashi 2023).
Bhadrakali Jayanti is celebrated with great enthusiasm in South India. Bhadrakali is worshiped today. It is said that worshiping Bhadrakali on this day removes all diseases, defects and sorrows from a person’s life.

According to the Panchang, Apara Ekadashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Jyestha month has started on May 15, 2023 at 2.46 am. Tomorrow Tuesday, May 16, 2023, it will be at 1:30 am. That’s why according to the rise date, Ekadashi fast is going to be observed today.

Significance of Apara Ekadashi
According to religious beliefs and astrology, it is said that fasting on Apara Ekadashi gives as much virtue as offering pinddaan to ancestors on the banks of the Ganges. That’s why many people are not able to do Pinddaan of their ancestors on the banks of the Ganges. That’s why Ekadashi fast is observed to get this virtue. On this day go to Badrinath temple and worship. Apart from this, it is said that by donating gold one gets the virtue of Apara Ekadashi. This Ekadashi is also called Ajala Ekadashi at some places. Along with fasting on Ekadashi, donating to Brahmins and worshiping Shri Hari gives immense wealth.

Wake up in the morning and take a bath.
Then offer black, mango, yellow flowers, yellow sandalwood, yellow clothes to Shri Hari.
Chant Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya mantra while worshiping.
