An awareness rally was organized on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day in Alwar

Alwar: On the occasion of May 31 World No Tobacco Day, the Medical and Health Department has organized a No Tobacco Week till May 31 in the district.

Deputy Chief Medical and Health Medicine Dr. Talking to reporters, Mahesh Bairwa said that the department conducts various public awareness activities during the week. A public awareness rally was organized from the office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer to the district headquarters on Friday morning. Apart from nursing students, other people of the department participated.

He said that Block Coordinating Committee meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Sub Divisional Officer at district and block level under the prohibition of tobacco week. A workshop for Panchayati Raj public representatives will also be organized. Along with this, flex banners will also be displayed in public offices to increase awareness about tobacco ban. Tobacco free activities will be organized in private hospitals and government medical institutions related to Chief Minister’s Long Term Health Insurance.

Aura card will be made for all above 30 years

He said that in compliance with the instructions received from the state level, a 100-day fit health camp has been organized till August 24. He informed that in the first phase, the health check-up of the employees working under the medical and health department in the district is being done till June 2 and in the second phase, all the government employees and private institutions of the district are being checked from June 3 to June 17. And in the third phase, From 18th June to 20th August, health screening of people above 30 years of age will be conducted at sub health centres, health wellness centres, primary health centres, etc. In which Aura card will be made after all the tests. This card will contain all the medical history of that person. The same pattern is followed abroad. Meanwhile, District Program Officer Dr. Mohsin, District Program Coordinator Dr. Solar etc. were present.

Thousands of tobacco invoices in a year

The Deputy CMHO said that from April 2022 to April 2023, 39 thousand 952 challans of tobacco were cut across the district. Due to which the government got an income of 10 lakh rupees. In these last days, 16 thousand 176 challans were issued in 40 days. Due to which the government has got an income of 761 thousand rupees.
