In the second qualifier of IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by 62 runs and with this also won the second final of IPL 2023. Chennai Super Kings will face defending champions Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final on May 28. Gujarat has reached the final for the second time in a row and has a chance to win the title for the second time since then. Interestingly, IPL 2023 started with the match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans on March 31 this year and now after 73 matches, the 16th season of IPL will also end with the final between these two teams.

Also another coincidence is that Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings ended the league stage at the first and second position in the points table. Earlier, the first Qualifier of IPL 2023 was played between the two teams, in which Chennai Super Kings won and Gujarat Titans had to play Qualifier-2 despite topping the league stage.

Gujarat scored 233 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs with the help of Shubman Gill’s stormy century in Qualifier-2. Chasing which Mumbai Indians could only manage 171 runs in 18.2 overs. Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans won the match by 62 runs to seal their place in the second consecutive final.

When Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans faced off in the opening match of the 16th season of IPL, Hardik Pandya’s team won. In that match, Chennai’s target of 179 runs was achieved by Gujarat by losing 5 wickets with 4 balls remaining. Chennai defeated Gujarat by 15 runs in Qualifier-1 and avenged the defeat in the opening match.
