Lucknow, May 24 (Hindustan Times). Munna Lal, Somwati and Subhash of Pandiya village of Kundarki police station in Moradabad district met Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday. Tired of being harassed and threatened by the neighbors of Chaya, a minor student of the family, she committed suicide without getting justice.

Akhilesh Yadav immediately gave him an aid check of one lakh rupees. He also assured to get justice. National Secretary Rajendra Chaudhary and State President Naresh Uttam Patel were also present on the occasion. MLA Nagina Manoj Paras, Samajwadi Party Moradabad District President DP Yadav, District General Secretary Mudassir Khan and Qayoom, Ankit Yadav also met the parents and brother of deceased Chaya. The victim’s family has also demanded government assistance of Rs 50 lakh, employment to the deceased’s brother and action against the CO for negligence in the incident.

It may be noted that 17-year-old Chhaya of Moradabad was studying in 12th standard, with whom Pramod, the son of neighbor Vikesh, was often molested and engaged in lewd acts. She also clicked a lewd photo of herself while bathing in the shade. On March 8, 2023, Chhaya was alone at noon when Vikesh entered the house and attempted to rape her. When the brother came, he ran away brandishing a pistol. It was reported to the Kundarki police station but no action was taken. The injured student committed suicide.
