Prayagraj: Department of Applied Science, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad has announced the opening of admission for M.Tech Biomedical Engineering program for the session (July-December 2023). M.Tech Biomedical Engineering program is starting from this academic session.
It may be mentioned that the institute started this course in the year 2012 initially as a 5 year Integrated M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering. Graduates with interdisciplinary backgrounds produced from previous batches have found success in various fields including healthcare, IT, electronics and instrumentation and medicine. Many students have pursued careers as scientific researchers in reputed institutes like IITs, NITs, IISc Bangalore, John Hopkins Institute, NTU Singapore and others in India and abroad.
Most of the patents filed by the organization in recent years have come from the field of biomedical engineering. The program has now been revived. All the eligibility criteria for admission to Triple IT Allahabad M.Tech Biomedical Engineering Program has been made available on the institute’s website. The syllabus covers various subjects. These include biomedical instrumentation, bio MEMS and microfluidics, medical imaging, biomaterials, biomechanics and bioinformatics etc.
Institute Director Prof. Mukul Sharad Sutane informed that the objective of the program is to create a new generation of skilled professionals who are passionate about IT in biomedical sciences to contribute effectively to society and think of new innovations to create a nurturing ecosystem for future generations.
