Sonitpur (Assam): Acting on a tip-off, the police today seized about one kg of fake gold from Godamghat area of Chardur police station in Sonitpur district. At the same time, Samshul Ali, involved in the sale and purchase of fake gold, has been arrested.
Police sources have said that fake gold business has been going on indiscriminately for a long time in Godamghat under Charidwar police station. Criminals involved in this business of cheating call people from outside states and send them money by giving them various kinds of lures.
Police sources have said that according to the information received from the arrested thugs, three other people are involved in this business. Police are currently questioning the arrested person.
