A three-storey building collapsed in Lucknow’s Transport Nagar, 5 dead, 24 people admitted to hospital

Lucknow: A three-story building collapsed in Transport Nagar in the state capital Lucknow. Five people died in the accident. While 24 people were injured. 28 people have been rescued. All the injured have been admitted to Lokbandhu Hospital. Lucknow Commissioner Roshan Jacob said that 28 have been rescued. 

Three dead bodies have been identified

Naib Tehsildar Govardhan Shukla said that a total of five people have died in this incident and 24 people are still injured. One of the injured was referred to Apollo Hospital, who died while being taken to Apollo Hospital. Three of the five people who died have been identified. The deceased has been identified as Pankaj Tiwari son of Satya Prakash Tiwari, Dheeraj Gupta son of Mahadev Gupta, and Arun Sonkar son of Sanjay Sonkar.

More people are feared trapped under the debris

According to the information, the Harmilap building had three floors. Mobile and spare parts business was done on the ground floor. There was a warehouse of medicines on the middle floor and gift items on the third floor. The administration says that everyone has been evacuated from the ground floor. It is not known exactly how many people are trapped in the debris on the second floor. Drones have been brought. Efforts are being made to detect voices from the debris. 

24 injured were admitted to the hospital

The administration has said that many people were buried under the debris when a building collapsed in Lucknow’s Transport Nagar. NDRF and SDRF rescued people trapped under the debris. 24 injured have been admitted to the hospital. The name of the building is Harmilap Building which is said to be a three-storey building. Medicine business was carried out in the building. There are eight ambulances on the spot. Additional ambulances have been called in case of need. The injured have been taken to Lok Bandhu Hospital.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed condolences

Lucknow MP and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed grief over the accident. He told me on his X handle that I had spoken to the District Magistrate of Lucknow over the phone and got information about the situation on the spot. The local administration is carrying out relief and rescue operations on the spot and is engaged in helping the victims in every possible way.

CM Yogi took cognizance

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the Sarojini Nagar building accident. He has also directed the SDRF and NDRF teams to reach the spot. The CM has asked the officials to start relief and rescue operations immediately.

 

 

The administration engaged in relief work

Relief and rescue operations are being carried out by NDRF, SDRF, fire brigade, medical department, and municipal corporation. Senior officials of the district including DM have reached the accident site. According to information, a building collapsed in Transport Nagar of Sarojini Nagar causing a stir. NDRF and SDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations.
