A prayer meeting was organized at Veer Bhoomi, a memorial site on the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary

New Delhi, May 21 (Hindustan Times). On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, a prayer meeting was organized at Veer Bhoomi, Samadhi in the national capital. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, late Congress leader Rajiv’s wife Sonia Gandhi, son Rahul Gandhi, daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, besides KC Venugopal, etc. participated in the prayer meeting.

All reached the Samadhi and paid heartfelt tributes to him. Congress president Kharge said – Rajiv Gandhi’s contribution in building 21st century India is unparalleled. The country will never forget him. It is worth mentioning that on 21 May 1991, Rajiv Gandhi was killed in a suicide bomb blast.
