A dispute over a trivial matter in Mallot, killing a neighbor with a wooden stick

Sri Muktsar Sahib News: 35-year-old Manjit Singh, a resident of Harjinder Nagar, Malot assembly constituency of Sri Muktsar Sahib district, was beaten up with a wooden stick by his neighbor Lovepreet Singh late in the evening in connection with money transfer. After carrying out this incident, the accused has fled from the spot. The deceased also has a 10-year-old son of Manjit Singh.
Nishan Singh, a family member of the deceased Manjit Singh, said that Manjit Singh and Lovepreet Singh were neighbors and used to trade cattle, for which they were charged money. Late in the evening Lovepreet Singh started abusing Manjit Singh and assaulted him and fled the scene after stabbing Manjit Singh on the head. Mirtak Manjit Singh has a 10-year-old son and his parents are dead.
On the other hand, Malkit Singh, Additional Station House Officer of Thana City Malot Police Station, said that there was an argument between them over giving money, in which Lovepreet Singh shot dead Manjit Singh and ran away from him. Investigation has been carried out and on the basis of the statement of the wife of the deceased, a case has been registered and action has been taken.
