After this decision of the government, the LGBT community in Italy is protesting on a large scale. Hundreds of people have taken to the streets for gay rights in Milan. Protesters also waved LGBT flags across the city to express their anger at the government’s decision.

Some Italian courts have ruled in favor of allowing same-sex couples to adopt each other’s children. In addition, Milan recognized the registration of surrogate children for same-sex couples. Protesters denounced the move as unjust and demonstrated throughout Milan waving flags and placards.

Notably, Prime Minister Georgia Maloney rose to power as the custodian of traditional Christian practices. He also strongly condemned the LGBT community. The recently elected chairman of the centre-left Democratic Party, Elie Schlein, was also present at the demonstration.
