Donald Trump: Former US President Donald Trump has claimed on social media that he will be arrested on Tuesday. Trump also urged his supporters to come together to protest the arrests. In another post, Trump said, “If this happens, you protest and take back our country.” It is alleged that Trump had sex with some women in New York and paid them money to avoid making the matter public.

Trump said in a post on his social network Truth on Saturday that illegally leaked information from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office indicated that the leading Republican candidate and former US president would be arrested on Tuesday next week. Trump did not comment on social media about how he learned about the possible arrest. In his post, he described the defeat of Democratic Party’s Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election as “theft of the mandate” and called on his supporters to protest. During Trump’s presidency, inflammatory messaging led to widespread violence by his supporters at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Law enforcement officials in New York are making security preparations in view of the possibility of Trump being indicted. No time frame has been publicly announced for the jury’s decision, which includes a possible vote to indict the former president. Trump said last year on his social media networks that the Federal Bureau of Investigation was searching his residence for classified documents. A grand jury in Manhattan is taking statements from witnesses, including former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen. Cohen said he paid for sex with two women a decade before Trump.

Trump has denied allegations of relationships with women, saying prosecutors affiliated with the Democratic Party are targeting him to remove him from the 2024 presidential race. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office is investigating the allegations to determine whether the payments violated any laws or whether Trump’s company paid Cohen to silence the women over the allegations. Cohen has said that at Trump’s direction, he arranged payments totaling $280,000 to porn actress Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal.
