Taliban’s new order in Afghanistan: husband and wife will not be able to eat together in restaurants, men and women will be allowed to enter the park on different days
New Delhi: The Taliban have implemented a gender discrimination scheme in Afghanistan’s western Herat province. Under this, men will no longer be allowed to have dinner with family members in family restaurants. Men and women are not allowed in the park together.
This rule, implemented by the ministry to spread morality and prevent evil, will also be applicable to the spouse. An Afghan woman said she had recently accompanied her husband to a restaurant in Herat. There the manager had asked him to sit separately and eat.
Ministry official Riyazullah Sirat said a similar order had been issued for parks in Herat. Accordingly, men and women have been asked to visit the park on different days. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are Women’s Days, while the men’s park will be open on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The Taliban issued a similar order in March in which Many restrictions were imposed on women. It banned women and men from entering the amusement park on the same day. Even before this, the Taliban regime has imposed many restrictions on women. These include a ban on traveling alone, requiring a man to accompany you on long-distance journeys, banning the issuance of driving licenses to women, making wearing the hijab mandatory, removing hoardings with pictures of women outside shops.
