NASA’s first success in growing vegetation in the soil of the moon!
For the first time, NASA scientists have succeeded in growing small grass-like plants in soil with very few nutrients from the Moon. At the same time, the possibility of growing colonies on the moon in future has become strong. Several lunar missions followed the first successful landing of the Apollo spacecraft in 1969. Of these, the passengers of the Apollo spacecraft, which went to the moon in 1972, brought lumps of lunar soil with them to the earth. At that time no technology was available other than the investigation of soil structure.
After 50 years very small plants grew in it
Today, 50 years later, in a lunar-like environment germinates from the seed of a very small plant. Scientists are excited after such a success. Now plans are in full swing to go to the moon in 2025 and experiment with agriculture. For this, on the other hand, experiments have been started to develop such plants which can thrive even in low nutrition.
