Some of these foreign nationals continue to stay in India even after the expiry of the visa due to medical reasons or any other reason. In cases where investigations reveal that people have stayed unintentionally or unintentionally, the overstay is regulated by charging them a fine and, if necessary, the visa period is extended.
What is Adverse Listing?
He said that in cases where it is found that a foreign national is willfully staying in India even after the expiry of the visa, necessary action is taken under the Foreigners Act, 1946. There is also a provision for foreign nationals to leave India and impose fines or visa fees. The Ministry of Home Affairs compiles a list of 726 Chinese nationals who have been placed on the visa adverse list by the government.
People in this list are not allowed to enter India. This includes those who violate visa rules or are involved in illegal activities. This list is sent to the Indian Embassy, so that such people can be stopped from entering India.
