General Asim Munir becomes Pakistan’s new army chief, replacing General Bajwa
Pakistan has got its new army chief. General Asim Munir will be the new army chief of Pakistan. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced his name. Many big names were involved in the race for the new army chief of Pakistan. After which this big responsibility has been entrusted to General Munir. General Munir is considered to be the infamous name of the intelligence agency ISI. Munir will replace General Bajwa. Bajwa is retiring on 29 November. General Munir is the one who told former PM Imran Khan about the corruption spread all around. After this he was removed from the post.
General Munir is the senior-most three-star general of the Frontier Force Regiment. He is the senior most officer after General Bajwa. General Munir has previously held several important positions in the Army. In the year 2018, he was the chief of ISI for 8 months. During this, many such stories came to the fore, due to which he came to be considered as a notorious ISI officer.
It is being told that General Munir had raised his voice about the deteriorating situation in Punjab province and had also reprimanded Imran Khan several times for this. Since then he started falling in the eyes of Imran and later he was removed from the post.
Let us inform that the Government of Pakistan had received the names of several senior generals to replace General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Apart from Lieutenant General Asim Munir, the names of Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas, Lieutenant General Noman Mehmood, Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid and Lieutenant General Mohammad Amir were sent to the army chief.
