EU declares Russia a terrorist state

Brussels: The European Union’s parliament on Wednesday overwhelmingly supported a motion to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism. Such a title has been given to Russia for the attack on Ukraine. 494 votes were cast in support of this proposal and only 58 votes were cast against it.

Apart from this, 48 did not vote. The EU parliament has called on Russia to step up pressure to bring to the International Court of Justice anyone responsible for war crimes over the attack on Ukraine. In addition, Russia again invaded Ukraine and attacked the capital city of Kyiv, killing three. This includes a baby girl born two days ago. The attack caused a blackout across Ukraine and Moldova.

Russia has again attacked Ukraine’s collapsed power grid. Due to this, darkness has spread across Ukraine from east to west and from north to south.

Kirylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of Ukraine’s presidential office, said Russia had attacked 11 towns and villages in Zaporizhia province in the past 24 hours. The Russian military fired more than 30 missiles at a town near the Zaporizhia nuclear plant. Residents and electric wires were damaged due to this. Due to damage to these power lines, not only Ukraine but also Moldova has been affected by blackouts. Moldova has said that the Ukraine–Russia war has affected it. Moldova’s population of 2.6 million is committed to freedom of expression. Ukraine’s President Zelensky has even said that half of the country’s power infrastructure has been destroyed due to Russia’s attack. Russia doesn’t want to leave our country invincible but at least livable.
