China fired deadly missiles at Taiwan-Japan
China has been in an aggressive mood after US Senate President Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Asia, especially to Taiwan. It has now started targeting the Quad countries as well. In a provocative action near Taiwan, China fired a dozen ballistic missiles in two hours on Thursday. During China’s military exercises, five of its missiles landed in Japanese territory. Experts believe that this is part of China’s well-thought-out strategy. China intentionally dropped these missiles on Japan. Let us know what is the big impact behind this move of China. What message does China want to send to the world by doing this?
Foreign Affairs expert Prof. Harsh V Pant says that China has suffered a lot after Nancy’s visit to Taiwan and Japan. His image has taken a huge hit globally. He said that this military test of China is the result of that anger. By doing so he is trying to send a message to the world that he fears no one and that his policy on Taiwan remains unchanged. That’s why he is often taking provocative action. That is why as soon as Nancy comes to Taiwan, she takes her military training in Taiwan.
China has also targeted Japan. By doing this he has given a message to the Indian Pacific region. China does not aim to shoot down Nancy’s plane during her visit, but it is not at all afraid of America. He also opposes US policy in the Indo-Pacific region. He said that overall this is China’s opposition policy. By doing so, he has sent a strong message to America and allied countries. Notably, Japan is a major part of the Quad organization. China opposed the formation of the Quad, saying it was the rise of a NATO-like organization in the Indo-Pacific. On the other hand, America is keeping a close eye on Nancy’s tour of Asian countries.
Professor Pant said that China wants to send a message that it is now in an aggressive mood. After Nancy’s visit, he can make such a move that the Quad countries, including Taiwan, may have to face difficulties. The US, on the other hand, has been successful in conveying to its allies that it is not afraid of threats from China. It stands with its allies and like-minded countries. After the Ukraine war, it was being speculated that now China might attack Taiwan as well. After Nancy’s visit, it has been decided that America cannot leave Taiwan alone like Ukraine. This is a clear message to China.
Japan and Taiwan protested restrainedly
Japan opposed China’s military test and claimed that the missiles landed in Japan’s exclusive economic zone. On China’s firing of ballistic missiles, Japan’s defense chief said five missiles fired by China during a military exercise near Taiwan fell into Japan’s exclusive economic zone. China has fired several ballistic missiles into Taiwan’s waters. Taiwan also opposed this action of China.
Taiwan has issued its statement with restraint, Taiwan’s foreign ministry said, “We strongly condemn the Chinese government for deliberately conducting missile tests in waters close to other countries.” Doing so threatens Taiwan’s national security. At the same time, regional tensions escalated and international traffic and trade were affected. Taiwan said that China fired 11 missiles on our maritime border in about two hours. We urge the international community to condemn this irresponsible behavior of China.
China’s stand on Taiwan
Recently, China’s Defense Minister General Wei Feng accused the US of supporting Taiwan’s independence. He said that the US is breaking its promise on Taiwan and interfering in China’s affairs. The Chinese Defense Minister said, let me make one thing clear, if someone tries to separate Taiwan from China, we will not hesitate to fight them, we will fight at any cost and fight till the end. This is the only option we have in the case of China. The Chinese defense minister’s statement came after US President Joe Biden’s message to China, in which he said it was “playing with danger” by blowing up warships near Taiwan. The US has said that if Taiwan is attacked, it will send its army to protect it.
