China: Fire breaks out in 21-storey building, 10 dead, 9 injured

At least 10 people have been killed and nine others injured in an apartment fire in northwest China’s Xinjiang region. A fire broke out in a 21-storey apartment building in Xinjiang’s capital Urumqi on Thursday. It took 3 hours to control the fire.

The local government said no one was injured in the incident and it was not life-threatening and the cause of the fire was being investigated.

A few days ago, 38 people died in a fire at a trade and commerce company in central China. Four people have been arrested in this case. Building fires have become common in China due to creaking infrastructure, poor security systems and, in some cases, government corruption.

On the other hand, keeping in mind the increasing cases of corona virus infection in China, the time of lockdown has been extended. The cases of corona virus in China are increasing every day.
