Diamonds at auction in Geneva on Wednesday 18.8 crore That is, 1 billion 43 crore 86 lakh 38 thousand 40 rupees were sold. As the largest diamond in the world, it was expected to be sold for a higher price.

It was expected that many records would be broken if the diamond was sold. However, the price is believed to be much lower than the record of such jewellery. The most expensive diamond of 163.41 carats was sold in the Swiss city in 2017 for ₹33.7 million. The Rock’ Diamond was highly expected as a world record model. However, the diamond sold for less than expected.

The Rock Diamond is the largest white diamond in the world. The diamond weighs 228.31 carats and is larger in size than a golf ball. The diamond auction took place on Wednesday at Christie’s auction house in Geneva. The bid, which started at 14 million francs, stopped two minutes later at 18.6 million francs. Adding taxes and buyer’s premium, the price would range from 19 to 30 million Swiss francs.

The Rock is a symmetrical almond shaped diamond. It belonged to a man from North America. The auctioneer bought the diamond after the auction at Htel des Burgess. “There are few diamonds of the same size and quality as The Rock,” said Max Fawcett, head of the jewelry department at Christie’s in Geneva.
